The InterviewDuring the first week I was there Mr. Max and I had a meeting to talk about what I will be doing at the office during this internship opportunity. I can not remember how this came up but Max said if I research about three people that are successful later on we will talk about what similar things they all have in common. Three weeks into the internship we have a meeting were we would talk about the three people. Before we talked about those three successful people I first finish the interview that was required. I am happy that we were told to do this because I got to hear what he did and I can/ did learn from him talking about his experiences. The other thing I am glad that we were told to do was record it because if I would of not been told to record the interview with your mentor I would have never done it because I thought it was pointless I was thinking while starting it "why do I have to record this?" until I got home, I realized it is so I can listen to it as many times as I want to. After asking him questions for the interview this is when we talked about the three successful people and what they had in common with each other. The things I noticed is no matter what they never gave up even through struggles and rejections, Second thing is when they were a child they could not get what they wanted because of their family financial struggle. Because they wanted so bad nothing could stop them even if the challenge was not having enough money.

On the first week I was still starting to know the people around me and I did not really feel comfortable around them to start a conversation with them. I did not really do much in the sense of socializing last week and I felt I should give it a better try. So this week I did talk more, in a good way not like over talking or anything. From my experience with talking to other people in this Keller Williams office during this week I learned people are really friendly. If you see someone walking in the hall they will normally say, "Good morning", or "Good afternoon", maybe at the end of the day at around 4pm "are you leaving?" followed with an "Ok have a good day then, see you tomorrow". You can also hear the phone at the front desk ring where the director of first impressions sits at and answer the phone call with "It's a great day at Keller Williams" which is way better than hearing the usual "This is (insert company name) how can I help you" it makes you have a "great day". It is really nice to work in an office that everyone has the desire to be in, the happiness is contagious, It makes me happy to talk about it. Other than talking to people that are around me I also learned a lot and improved the skills I gained from the week before. On Monday the 14th when I came in to work I put in an entire box of around 80 to 90 agents who have left into a system, and I worked at the front desk for about an hour. It was also our brokers birthday that day too and we all call him Mo for short and he is pretty cool person he's also in a band where I heard he sings and plays the guitar(They are pretty famous in Mexico) the band is called Delux. On the next day Tuesday the 15th I got about another 80 past agents and put them into the system. After this I worked on the front desk and while at the front desk a lot of people called and came this day but it did not compare to Thursday. On Thursday I helped Jennifer update a board near the office lounge that has information of new listings. When I was done helping Jennifer I then continued where I left off the day before with helping Melody, I then ate lunch and now comes the time of when I sit at the front but, today was like no other. I got to sit at the front desk from 1 PM until around 3:30 PM (instead of the usual 1 - 2 PM) and I got to do the usual things like, answering the phone, transferring calls, showing clients were to go, and letting agents know they're here. After this week I can not wait for next week but I am kind of sad because that means I am more than half way done with this internship program and I am really enjoying my time here.
The first day at Keller Williams Realty was pretty nice because the first thing I did was talk to my mentor. A little after the meeting were we went over what will happen I went to their conference room and I viewed three interviews for a position they had and I took notes on what I thought they did good on, and on time I thought they could of improve on. This is really good because it was three real world interviews where I didn't have to stress about anything because I was not the one being interviewed which allowed me to focus better and write great notes for future references before I go into an interview. On day two Mr. Max let me work with Tracy, while I worked with Tracy I learned good office skills that could help me get a future job. I also liked organizing because it did not need a lot of talking unless I had a question and I did have a few questions. This was a good task to start with for my second day because I did not have to talk in front of a lot of people, only to Tracy. I usually get really nervous while talking to others I don't know and it is even worse if there is more people around so these small victories (asking questions) with Tracy. I gained the courage to ask the friendly people at the front desk if they needed help with anything. During the time I was working with them I learned that their names are, Mark, and Jennifer. Jennifer taught me how to print, scan, copy, refill the papers, and have the mail be delivered. On Wednesday I worked with mark to set up a room where the office has weekly meetings Richard joined us too. A little after we set up the room I was able to sit in on the meeting and see how one happens. While in the meeting I saw a vendor selling their product and answer any questions agents had about it too. Next I believe Richard talked about how the company is doing showing us statistics that Keller Williams is far above the average united states real estate companies and after showing the charts everyone clapped and was happy. Then Joe went up with Chanel to talk about red day an event that happens every year to to help improve our community. When my first meeting was over I watched Mr. Max be filmed for his campaign and towards the end of it I got out of my comfort zone and said an idea I thought of. Thursday was RED Day so we met up at a church and broke up into three groups where they had different tasks the one I joined was the one that painted, we painted a brick wall to hide the graffiti under it and while we did that we got visited by a cute dog who observed what we were doing for a long time, we also painted a staircase a nice brown that reminded me of chocolate. The other groups cleaned the upstairs of the church and another group did gardening. At the end of RED Day we ate tacos and everyone talked and had fun. Before everyone left we made 2 lines facing each other and one by one or with a partner walked down doing a special dance move. On Friday I organized files, and worked behind the front desk with mark for about an hour answering phone calls and transferring them to the person they were looking for.
