My Growth
My Growth in Spanish class was great because we learned about the history of mexico and of the myths I wish we learned more because I love to learn about history because that has made the world the world it is today and we also learned what the North American Free Trade Agreement is and during it I thought man this is a lot of papers to read but looking back on it, it was kind of fun to learn and read about NAFTA and we also got a mini lesson on corn from a student named cody one time and all of it was really fun to do all of this we also did a day of the dead carnival and my booth did a bean bag toss
My Growth in Humanities was huge because we did a lot of things that was new to me and most of it I never even thought of like we talked how food can convey a message and we had to make a food that had a meaning to us. We also talked about negative food pairing and we had a sweet and spicy lollipop I never thought of how these taste can go really good to geather. We also learned that food can convay a message or emotion. Then we got into the pop up resturant and I learned a lot about that but I am going to talk of that next paragraph. A small thing we did also in the beginning was learn about social things and how saying "Thanks for being so patient with me" is way better than saying "Sorry for being a bother". |
Skills I Gained
My life skills that I have learned in this semester has been in making the popup restaurant and when we served food. Making it was a challenge because I felt like the design committee was a little unorganized but it is ok because every thing got fixed an sorted out so that did help I am sure with every one grow in their problem solveing skills. after that I chose to be a server and I alwayse thought it would be easy and kind of like the Applebee’s fund raiser we did for the backpacking club because there we had to just ask for how many plates we needed, give drinks, server, come back every once in a while to see if they need refills, and done. when we did it at Romesco's we had two options of food and that was vegan and non vegan we took the orders on these little papper note pads "V" for vegan "NV" for non vegan we also had different drinks I got this helpfull tip from this one nice lady who is a server and that was to start from the table top left and go counter clockwise or clockwise whichever is best and also to number the people in the seats so you remember who orderd what sadly she was one of my last tables I served so I could not use that useful tip that much I know this project was the one that tought me how to do things that I will be needing for my future
