Content KnowledgeDuring the second semester we read a book called ," Difficult Conversations: How to Discuss What Matters Most" . It was about emotions that come out during difficult conversations and how to deal with them. It talked about everything from starting a simple conversation to speaking your mind when you are not agreeing with everyone else's opinion. It gave us examples in a story format so that we can place ourselves in the situation or think about a time we could have gone through that same situation ourselves. They would end off each situation with suggestions on what would work out better in a real world situation.
Academic SkillsReading this book has helped me improve my reading skills. It has helped me understand how to say things in a way that I wouldn't get a negative outcome in the end.

Life Skills
At first I thought this book wasn't the best book to read but the more I thought about it the more I realized that is was a great refresher of some of the academic skills that I already knew. I just didn't use them all the time. I am that type of guy that goes to a pub and asks the bartender for a sample of their house brew, hate the taste but still orders two pints of it so that I don't feel like I wasted the bartender's time. It helped me realize that I need to be more okay with difficult situations out in public. It's okay to not want something even thought others might think differently. It's also okay to stand up for my beliefs and voice it to others in a very sure and confident way.
